The Power of Freedom
Do not underestimate the power of the mind. Just as freedom begins with a thought, bondage does as well. When you are in bondage the enemy is controlling your mind. What used to be just an occasional behavior has now become an addiction. The power of addiction is that the mind believes it cannot be free. The mind controls the body and whatever the mind is set on the body will desire.
Freedom is always available through Jesus Christ, but you must choose to be free. Though your mind is in bondage, freedom is a choice you have to make. Both begin and end in the mind. When you have been in bondage for so long you cannot see yourself being free. You know what bondage feels like so you hold on to what's holding you because it's familiar. Now the thing that you hate being controlled by is where you feel most secure.
You can be free. Allow the Holy Spirit to have full control of your mind. God's Spirit will transform your heart and mind and lead you to freedom and total victory.
Throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.
Ephesians 4:22-24 NLT
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 2:5 KJV
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
Galatians 5:1 NIV
